The view southwards from the church tower showing cottages on the Harkerside road. The building set back from the road is the Grinton Corn Mill. It was demolished in the early 1950s. The lady in the doorway of Mill Cottage was Mr. Mason's mother. More information is given on the Grinton village/houses section of this website.

An old cast-iron oven set into the wall of a field on the south side of Grinton. The oven is actually set on the moorland side of the wall. I would be grateful if anyone has information about this intriguing object.
